The waterfront in Sydney is a really nice place to be, busy, but nice. There are lots of tourists in this spot for a good reason. This area is where you get to see Sydney’s main attractions and where you can catch a ferry. We got two ferries, one to Taronga Zoo and one to Darling Harbour.
It was a great way to see the city from a different perspective, to get shots of the Sydney Opera House from all angles. It should be noted at this point, that Hurricane Billy was passing by Australia so the skies were not the classic sunny Aussie weather we were expecting.
I have said it before but I really love boats. It really is such a fun way to travel.
Sydney Opera House is practically on every postcard for Sydney. We were all pretty excited to see it but in reality, it was a little underwhelming. I know that sounds terrible but I thought it would be bigger and cleaner.
There is a a great walk that runs along the edge around Sydney Harbour. It has a nice vibe, everyone is relaxing in the sun or taking a stroll.
Have you been to Sydney? If I go back I want to walk up Sydney Harbour Bridge, definitely!
I don’t know what it is but when I am out driving, to clear my head, to get away from everything, I end up here. Possibly because of it’s beauty, maybe the breeze from the valley blows away the cobwebs or maybe because I have really happy memories attached to this place. Whatever it is it is a definite must see if you are travelling around Wicklow.
If you are travelling in Winter it will be very cold, do you see my face? I thought my fingers were going to fall off. Bring all of your layers! You will need them. Something I really recommend if you are freezing is to go for a walk, the Ballinastoe walk right by Lough Tay is the perfect walk to do if you need to get the feeling back in your body.
This walk is great for a tourist because of the boardwalk, if you are afraid of getting lost, don’t worry the path will guide you. It protects the landscape because it is such a travelled route. Bring some ankle support because the boards can get uneven in places and you don’t want to twist your ankle.
The boardwalk goes all the way up to the base of the mountain, and because there has been so many visitors they have carved out the path in the mountain so it is very easy to follow. The main attraction is Lough Tay, this beautiful lake can be seen all along the road so there are many places to view it. Stopping off at any of them will give you the most amazing pictures! This area is amazing at all times of the year so whenever you are visiting you are sure to experience the best of the area. I love this area, it’s not far from South Dublin at all, it’s really accessible, lots of space to park your car and a great place to explore and get some great images! Have you been to this area?
I have always loved Natural History Museums, there is something about them, the one in Dublin is not that big but it has a great selection of animals. There is something amazing about walking through and seeing when these animals had been studied and taken note of. I was excited to go to the natural history museum in Berlin as it’s one of the best things to do according to TripAdvisor. It is 3 euro for a student so really affordable! The Rooms:
The main room is always some sort of amazing dinosaur! It’s a given that, that is what you will find. The main room is big and airy and it houses some amazing fossils. The second room I entered was where the biodiversity wall was and may I say this is amazing, they are all so wonderfully preserved and it is amazing to see animals big and small on this one giant wall. There is the wet room, there is a huge collection of preserved animals in jars, it’s eery but it’s absolutely incredible! There is so many rows and it’s just really cool that you can walk all around it.Keep in mind that there are a few more rooms to explore! So get going!
I really recommend you go! It’s really cool there are so many things to see and the animals and artefacts are so well preserved. It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours!
